The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised an online workshop on the topic ‘Entrepreneurship Skill, Attitude and Behaviour Development’.

The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Raj Kumar Singh, Dean (R&D), Head, Department of Commerce and Chairperson (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Skill Development), School of Management Sciences, Varanasi. A total of 117 students and faculty members attended the workshop. Besides providing insights into the meaning of entrepreneurship skills, attitude and behaviour, the resource person also discussed the need for more startups and patents in a developing country like India. Prof. Singh discussed the main principles of technological feasibility, desirability of customer and viability of a business.
He gave relevant examples from shaadi.com, Naukri.com, make my trip, cloud kitchen, Kirloskar pump, etc. to validate his ideas on innovations. He added that in order to develop an innovative ecosystem in an institution, there is a need to have analysis of cost benefit, technical benefit and strategic fit. The participants found the session highly informative.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava appreciated the efforts of MCM IIC to train the students to be successful entrepreneurs with requisite innovation skills. She added that through the promotion of culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the vision of a self-reliant India can be realised.
