Message of the holy scripture Gita is relevant and rational for the world even today: Jai Ram Thakur

Chandigarh, December 21 – Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur, while interacting with media persons after the inauguration of the International Gita Mahotsav -2020 in Kurukshetra, said that the message of the holy scripture Gita is relevant and rational for the world even today. Today everyone needs to imbibe the message of karma delivered by Lord Krishna centuries ago to the world on this sacred land of Kurukshetra in their lives.

Jai Ram Thakur appreciated the decorations of Brahmasarovar and five Kunds set up for performance of Gita Yajna. He was pleased with the chant of mantras and congratulated the Haryana Government and Administration for excellent arrangements. He said that it was his privilege to have got an opportunity to visit the sacred land of Kurukshetra. He said that the Haryana government is working to keep the culture and moral values alive in today’s materialistic era by organizing such events. He said that in this race of progress and modernity today, we are forgetting our history, culture, and values. Such events give us an opportunity to connect with our history and culture.

In reply to a question, Jai Ram Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh is also a Dev Bhoomi and a lot of programmes are organized there. He said that there will be a discussion on organizing an event about the holy book Gita in Himachal Pradesh. The Gita is not limited to Haryana or Himachal Pradesh; it is a universal scripture and has a solution to the problems of the whole world, he added.
