Says welfare schemes must reach to all beneficiaries

Every eligible beneficiary of pension in Barnala is covered under the ambit of different pension schemes for which an amount of Rs 4.22 lakh is recently distributed among the beneficiaries.
Stating this today District Planning Board Chairman Karan Dhillon said that under the National Social Assistance Program Scheme during the year 2021-22 an amount of Rs 4,22,300 was approved and the same was distributed among beneficiaries in district.
Under the Indira Gandhi National Widow pension Scheme (Rs 300 per month from August to September 2020), Rs 2,47,200 was given to 412 beneficiaries of general category and Rs 1,50,600 for 251 beneficiaries of SC Category.
Under this scheme Rs 10,500 was also given to 7 beneficiaries of general category (Rs 500 per month-from July to September 2020).
He said that under the Indira Gandhi Handicap Pension Scheme of Rs 500 per month (August to September 2020) three beneficiaries of general category were given Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 was given to two beneficiaries of SC category. An amount of Rs 4,22,300 was approved and given pension under this scheme.
He said that so far Rs 42,46,900 was given as pension so far.
The chairman said that it is ensured that all such schemes reach to the masses for which every effort is made by the government.
