Crime control is his utmost priority

With the motive to make Mohali crime free district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal today assumed the charge of his office at District Administrative Complex.
A Punjab Police Service (PPS) officer, Mahal was previously posted as commandant of 7th Battalion, Punjab Armed Police, Jalandhar, and was also holding additional charge of AIG, special task force, Jalandhar. He has also served as the SSP of Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar Rural and Khanna in the past. He replaced Satinder Singh, who has been posted as SSP Jalandhar (Rural).
Crime prevention and maintaining law and order would be his priority. “I will adopt zero tolerance for corruption. The police officials will have to discharge their duties honestly and justice for public will be the foremost task,” he stated. Asked about his planned initiatives, Mr. Mahal added that the presence of force would be increased at all major points of the district to control illegal activities.
