Mrs. Preeti Yadav, a 2014 batch IAS officer, took over as new deputy commissioner of Rupnagar district . On her arrival, she was given a “guard of honor” by the Punjab Police contingent. All the senior officers of Rupnagar district were also present on the occasion.

Immediately after assuming office, she held a high level meeting with the officers of various departments and sub-divisional magistrates of Rupnagar district. Presiding over the meeting, she directed the officers to ensure that the welfare schemes of Punjab government should be implemented in their letter and spirit by conducting public visits at the grass root level so that every needy person could be covered. “It is our responsibility to reach out to those in need who cannot reach us,” she said.
She said that special attention would be given to the health, education and tourism sectors so that these sectors could be developed and promoted soon.
She said that the work done by the officers would be reviewed every month and a framework would also be worked out for smooth implementation of the programs of the departments so that maximum number of people could be reached. She said that the officers and employees should treat the common man properly so that the confidence of the people in the district administration would be enhanced and the work of the common man would be carried out within the stipulated time. She also directed the officers to reach the office on time.
