Elaborating on the reports of an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Akali Dal (Democratic), senior leader of the AAP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema on Thursday said that a meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party’s senior leader and Punjab affairs co-incharge Raghav Chadha and Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) president Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa was held and instead of an alliance; discussion was carried out on the leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) to join the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party would not form any alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) but all the leaders including Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa would soon join the Aam Aadmi Party.

Cheema said that both, the Aam Aadmi Party and the Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) were working to save Punjab and due to this, will come together on a platform to raise the voice and held various governments who had been in power, accountable for the harassment and mistreatment that the people of Punjab were facing for a long time. Cheema said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Democratic) president Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa was positive and affirmative about joining the Aam Aadmi Party and he would soon take a decision on it.
