Jagraon Police arrests drug peddler & Bulldozes Drug Mafia’s Property
Fulsome support from society in wiping out drug menace: Sarpanch Manjinder Singh Grewal
Says CM Mann called him today also to inquire about his well being & has assured fulsome support

On February 26 a video of altercation between a young village Sarpanch and a notorious drug smuggler woman had gone viral on social media. It was at around 7 pm yesterday, when Narangwal village Sarpanch Manjinder Singh Grewal was at his house and received call from an unknown number on his phone. “It was none other than Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann,” a confident Manjinder tells.
“I briefed him about the entire issue that had gone viral on social media and CM Mann assured immediate action. Within 2 hours, the Ludhiana (Rural) Police reached our village,” the Sarpanch tells, adding that the Police not only arrested the drug peddlers but also Bulldozed the Drug Mafia’s Property which had been built by encroaching on Panchayat land.
The police have also arrested three individuals including Kulbir Kaur, her husband Balwant Singh and a man named Tanvir, after filing a case against them. The couple has a history of criminal cases related to drug offenses.
SSP Dr. Ankur Gupta stated that both Kulbir Kaur and her husband have previous drug smuggling cases against them, and their property was funded by money obtained from drug sales. He emphasized that the police have initiated a drive to identify properties owned by drug peddlers, stating that all illegal properties, as well as those built with drug money, will be demolished in the coming days.
Gupta reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, to take strict action against those involved in the drug trade. He assured the public that no one would be spared until the drug menace is completely eradicated and pledged severe penalties for drug peddlers, with no leniency for drug trafficking offenders.
Sarpanch Manjinder Singh Grewal expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his decisive action against drug peddlers. He noted that the Chief Minister personally called him twice (yesterday as well as today) to discuss the details of the case and appreciated his zero-tolerance policy toward drug-related offenses.
He assured that he along with all youth from the area would provide fulsome support to the Punjab government in wiping out drug menace from our society. He said that everyone in the village is praising the way CM Bhagwant Singh Mann took personal interest in this issue and resolved it personally.
Grewal further explained that Kulbir Kaur and her family had been involved in drug sales for an extended period and had even threatened him and the Panchayat.
