Spot Slogan writing Competition

The Department of Gandhian and Peace Studies in collaboration with the Panjab University Alumni Association and Social Substance organized an Online ,On the Spot Slogan Writing Competition for the age group of 12 to 21 years  for celebrating Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on 29th September, 2020.

While welcoming the audience and other invited members of PU Alumni Association, the Chairperson of the Department Dr. Manish Sharma highlighted the requirement of why we need the slogans in our day to day life and how it can help in honouring others through the slogans. The three different topics on which the participants were supposed to work were, “COVID Free World”, “Peace” and “Environment”. Around 30 participants from Chandigarh, New Delhi and also from Ahmedabad participated actively. All the participants were given 30 minutes to complete the same. After the completion of the event, the participants forwarded the slogans via sharing the screens, sending the photos by whatsapp and also via email. Apart from the participants, the event was opened up for the audience who were above 21 years of age but they will not be able to get the cash prizes. In the end, Dr Manish Sharma proposed a vote of thanks to all the participants and other invited members of PU Alumni Association for attending and participating in the event and the results of this event will be declared on 2nd October, 2020 during the special lecture function.

Dr Sharma also informed the members that  the Poem Recitation Event of the age group 12-21 (rules and other details are uploaded on the ww.gandhianstudies.puchd.ac.in) will also be organized on 30/09/20 via Cisco WebEx again in collaboration with the PU Alumni Association and the link for the same is https://alumni.webex.com/alumni/j.php?MTID=mf5a702ba935db30110e020ab8fb9d53c
