Raids in nursing homes running in residential sectors of Kurukshetra, illegal drug shops found operational- Vij

Chandigarh, April 18- Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Haryana Food and Drug Administration, said that the teams of Food and Drug Administration Department has exposed a racket which is selling MTP kit (abortion medicine) online without prescription in Ambala. This unauthorize sale has been exposed and further action is being taken to nab the person selling kits online without slip. On the other hand, raids have been conducted in nursing homes running in residential sectors of Kurukshetra and illegal medicine shops have been found operating there.

Sh. Anil Vij said that as part of the Food and Drug Administration’s campaign against illegal drug shops running in nursing homes in residential sectors, teams today organized Kilkari Child Care and House No. 837 in Sector-5 of Kurukshetra. Raid was also conducted at Dr. Payal Mother and Eye Care Centre running at House No-836. Illegal medicine shops were found operational in both these nursing homes.

He told that in Kilkari Hospital, medicines were being sold over the open counter in the name of M/s Vijay Lakshmi Health Care. The fearless law breakers are issuing sales bills from the shop without a license, which were taken over by the teams of the department.

The commissioner of the department, Sh. Wazir Singh Goyat, constituted a team which included Kurukshetra SDCO, Smt. Sarika Malik and DCO, Sh. Vijaya Raje. At the same time, the purchase bill of any medicine was not received from Payal Garg’s hospital. By buying medicines without bill, apart from the crime under the Drugs Act, tax evasion is also done. The team took possession of medicines from both the illegal shops and filled samples which would be sent to the lab for testing so that the quality of the medicines could be known.

Here in Ambala, while taking action in a planned manner, the FDA team has exposed the online sale of MTP kit (abortion medicine) without prescription. The State Drug Controller of the department had received information that the medicines coming under M/s Misho Online Selling Portal Schedule-H and Schedule-H1 give delivery by taking online orders from the doctor. A team consisting of departmental officers, Ambala SDCO Sunil Dahiya and DCO Rajneesh was formed and a decoy customer was created, who placed an online order for four MTP kits. The team has taken possession of these medicines. Decoy customer Bijendra has submitted invoice along with delivery to the authorities. This illegal sale has been done by Shyamdhar Singh of Delhi. The team is in touch with Delhi State Drug Control Department for further action so that the seller can be nabbed.
