Chandigarh, May 3 – Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh has said that an Oxygen Plant of 45-cylinder capacity will soon be set up in the new building the Government Hospital on the Arunay Road of Pehowa, so as to tackle the Corona crisis.
He elaborated that all formalities of this plant which is to be built at a cost of more than Rs 40 lakh, have been completed. This Oxygen Plant will be set up here with the personal funds of the Sports Minister. He said that about 45 cylinders of oxygen will be produced from the new plant. This will enable oxygen supply to patients in 100 bedded hospitals regularly. While inspecting the new building of the Hospital at Pehowa, he instructed the officers monitoring its construction that two floors of the hospital should be completed in next three weeks so that the treatment of patients can be started here. Besides this, he gave instructions to the PWD officers to ensure that the building is ready soon and also to repair the roads etc. Along with this, the officers of the PWD and Health Department were given the task of setting up the Oxygen Plant.
Minister of State for Sports said that the quota of oxygen in the state was 162 metric tonnes which was enhanced to 232 MT three days ago and now it has been further enhanced to 257 MT. Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is constantly monitoring the corona cases throughout the state and all possible assistance is being provided to the state from the Central Government. He said that there will be no shortage of oxygen in the state. Soon, oxygen plants will be started at BPS Medical College Khanpur Kalan, Karnal, Panchkula, Hisar, Sirsa and Faridabad.
He also gave instructions to expedite the vaccination drive. Sports Minister, Sh. Sandeep Singh visited the Community Health Centre, Pehowa and the Saraswati Mission Hospital set up for COVID patients and took stock of the preparations.

Remdesivir blackmarketing: ‘Kingpin’ held in Panipat
Chandigarh, May 3 – In a major crackdown, Haryana Police has arrested kingpin of a racket in connection with black-marketing of Remdesivir drug, which is in high demand for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, from Panipat district.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that the primary probe revealed that arrested accused used to buy injection from an Uttarakhand resident at the rate of Rs.12000 per vial and then sold the same between Rs.15000 to Rs30000.
In a shocking revelation, the accused had already carried out black-marketing of 650 injections out of 750 vials brought so far. Of these, arrested accused gave 100 injections to his nephew Sumit, 150 to Saksham and 40 injections to Keshav for black-marketing.
Arrested accused was identified as Pardeep, a resident of Sector-13/17, Panipat.
It may be mentioned here that acting on a tip-off, the Police on April 27, had nabbed three youths from Panipat on the charges of black-marketing of Remdesivir injection and recovered 19 vials from their possession. They were taken on police remand. During the course of the remand period, accused revealed that they had purchased the seized vials from Pardeep, who runs a Medical Store at a Hospital located on Sanoli Road.
Based on the information, the police team immediately nabbed him and when interrogated, the accused confessed to having committed the black-marketing of the vials during this pandemic.
The accused Sumit, Saksham and Keshav were produced before the Court on completion of the police remand and they were sent to judicial custody. The accused Pradeep has been sent of a police remand of four days for interrogation.
During investigation, it also came to light that the wrapper of the seized vials is quite different from company’s injection and it seems that they were not original. The public is requested to beware of such gangs involved in black-marketing and immediately inform the police
