Aam Aadmi Pary (AAP) Punjab affairs co-in-charge Raghav Chadha lambasted PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu and Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia and said that both the leaders are undeserving candidates for Amritsar East. Chadha said that public service cannot be expected from Majithia as he himself is an accused in drug mafia case. On the other hand there is Navjot Sidhu who has been representative of the people of Amritsar for the last 15 years as an MP and MLA and still has done nothing for the people there. Raghav Chadha said that AAP candidate from Amritsar East Jeevan Jyot Kaur hails from a common family and she understands the hardships and pain of common people.

During a press conference in Amritsar on Friday, Raghav Chadha appealed to the people not to fall prey to the vicious circle of traditional parties and politicians. He urged people to elect someone who will respond to their phone calls and be there for them for the next 5 years. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party has fielded the daughter of a common house and daughter-in-law of Amritsar as its candidate from Amritsar East.
Raghav Chadha said that all the surveys are showing that Aam Aadmi Party is forming the government in Punjab. So, he appealed to the people of Punjab not to waste their vote. “Your one vote will lay the foundation for the future of your children as well as the golden future of Punjab,” said Chadha. He said that people of Amritsar should vote for the Aam Aadmi Party too, as Aam Aadmi Party’s government in Punjab is certain.
Jeevan Jyot Kaur condemned Navjot Singh Sidhu’s ill-treatment of his mother and said that a person who had ill-treated his mother can never care about the well-being of other people. She also added that Majithia, an accused in drug mafia case, has an uncertain future, how and on what ground he’ll make promises to the people of Amritsar East. Jeevan Jyot Kaur thanked Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party for giving her the responsibility and said that she will live up to the expectations of the party and the people of Amritsar East constituency.
About Congress’s CM face announcement Raghav Chadha said that Congress has only two faces, one is the person whose nephew made 11 crores in cash, gold worth 21 lakh and has 54 crores money trail in just his (Channi’s) Chief Minister’s tenure of 111 days. On the other hand the person who never came to the constituency after winning. The Captain and his (Sidhu) family are telling that he is not mentally fit, will we hand over the reins of Punjab to such a person. The choice for Congress regarding their CM face is between the devil and the deep blue sea. Now it has to be seen whether the Congress makes a mentally unstable person its chief ministerial candidate or a ‘Sand thief’ will be again chosen as CM face. Raghav Chadha said that Captain-BJP alliance has no ground in Punjab and Captain won’t be able to win his own seat.
