Damaged cables being replaced with higher size cables to ensure uninterrupted power supply
Appeals to the consumers to declare proper load

Admitting that the power supply faults and unscheduled power cuts imposed in past few days were due to technical constraints and generation related issues, a spokesman from the local electricity department assured that with the ever increasing power demand PSPCL is committed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to residents of Mohali.
Apprising about the remedial measures in place, it was informed that with imposition of power regulatory measures on industrial consumers, there has been no power cut in areas under Mohali division. Power supply in rapidly developing areas such as Nayagaon, Kansal etc has significantly improved owing to work of augmentation of transformer and bifurcation of feeders.
Besides, the transformers which get damaged are being augmented before being replaced and the replacement activity is being carried out in matter of a few hours. Further, the damaged cables are also being replaced with higher size cables to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The categorisation of feeders of Mullanpur and Seonk has also been upgraded on pattern of Mohali city thereby ensuring no power cuts shall be imposed.
The spokesman said that many of the residents have got ACs installed but have not got them regularized. He said that PSPCL appeals to its consumers to declare proper load so that system improvement can be done.
