Chandigarh, 8 December
Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab President and Member of Parliament Bhagwant Mann has slammed former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s possible alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “The people of Punjab will never forgive Capt. Amarinder Singh, who is going to play a new political inning by forming Punjab Lok Congress pary with the support of BJP. He has stabbed the Punjabis in the back and is now openly taking political support of BJP, who has left no stone unturned to make Punjab and our farmers miserable.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Wednesday, the party’s state president and MP Bhagwant Mann scoffed at Capt Amarinder Singh and his political future, saying that Capt Amarinder Singh had named his party Punjab Lok Congress Party, but neither the people nor Congress are with him today, let alone Punjab. Although at one point Capt. Amarinder Singh had everything, but he spent it all in his comfort zone and handed over the Punjab to the mafia. If the Captain could not do anything for Punjab and Punjabis in his golden age, what can people expect from him now?
Mann claimed that the people of Punjab hate Bharatiya Janata Party, that is why the BJP is zero in our state. Despite the Captain’s alliance with the BJP and other opportunistic political zeros, the bet result will be nill too.
Bhagwant Mann said, “Capt. Amarinder Singh’s political alliance with the BJP has ‘ hasn’t come out of nowhere’ but Captain has always been a friend of BJP. As the Chief Minister, he played for BJP team only and betrayed Punjab, Punjabis and Punjabiyat, including our farmers and laborers. This truth is in front of everyone today when we (AAP) have been saying from the beginning that Captain and BJP are colluders. That is why the people of Punjab need to stay aware of such alliances. ”
He asked what were the promises made by Capt. Amarinder Singh to the people of Punjab during his campaign during the 2017 elections and what did he do after becoming the Chief Minister? All this is crystal clear to the people of Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann said that the Captain did nothing for the welfare of the people sitting in the power position nor did he fulfill any election promises. Instead, betraying the people, he protected the Badal family who were looting and beating Punjab as per the directions of Modi and Amit Shah. The drug, sand, cable and transport mafia remained the same. Captain has also betrayed the farmers and labourers of Punjab about the cancellation of anti-farmers bills. So how much more the people of Punjab will tolerate Captain?
Addressing Capt. Amarinder Singh, Bhagwant Mann said, “Captain Sahib, today you are the scapegoats of entire Congress, even though they were part of your mafia state. So explain it to the people of Punjab which of the Congress MLAs and Wazirs were part of the mafia?”
Cursing Chief Minister Channi and the entire Congress, Bhagwant Mann said that Capt.
Amarinder Singh was not the only one responsible for the failures of the last five years. The entire Punjab Congress and the Congress High Command were equally responsible. That is why the people of Punjab are demanding accountability from the Captain as well as the Congress party.
Mr. Mann said that the leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (United) should also clarify their position regarding political alliance with BJP and Capt. Amarinder Singh. Reacting to the statements made by Dhindsa’s Shiromani Akali Dal on the possible alliance with BJP, Bhagwant Mann said that Sardar Dhindsa and other taksali leaders would have to explain to the people how BJP and Captain are now all cleaned? Because ‘conditions or no conditions situation’ doesn’t matter when it comes to such a nefarious alliance.
Bhagwant Mann said that Capt. Amarinder Singh and BJP are working together to find some political ground in Punjab but all their efforts are in vain because Punjabis will never support those who stab them in the backs.
