Rs 64 lacs worth modernisation of pond to be started Soon
Pond will be modernised on the lines of Thapar model of liquid waste management

Building to the long pending demands of Residents of village Sehna, the Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has given nod for construction of Thapar based liquid waste management plant in the village. Divulging details of this project the Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur said that a demand was placed with Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer by the residents of Sehna.
We are going to modernising pond soon so that village’s dirty water from household can be managed properly. The village has around 1500 to 1600 households. The pond is located in 2.5 acres of land. As per the project prepared, the pond will be converted into a Thapar model plant. This shall Intel construction of three Chambers for separation of different kind of ways and finally the treated water from third chamber will be stored in and open tank. This treated water will then be given to the farmers for irrigation purposes and the remaining will be released into the drain.
Additional Deputy Commisioner (Development) Paramvir Singh said that total Rs. 64 lakh will be spent on construction of this pond. This fund will come from 15th finance commission and Swachh Bharat Mission funds. RS 3 lakhs work work will be got done under MGNREGA.He added besides having components of Thapar model, the rest of area of pond will havea beautiful park, plantation and path laid by interlocking tiles.
Once the Thapar model based pond is renovated it shall prove to be a boon for villagers who will get freedom from open foul smell emanating pond.
