Amazon India to set up its 7th storage centre in Gurugram

Chandigarh, September 9– The efforts being made by the State Government to attract investment and employment in Haryana are continuously paying off. After big companies like ATL, Flipkart, Maruti, now e-commerce company ‘Amazon India’ has announced the expansion of its storage network in Haryana. Under this, Amazon will set up its 7th supply centre in Gurugram and this will create new employment opportunities directly and indirectly for thousands of youth across the State in near future. According to Amazon India Company, it has launched its 7th supply centre in Haryana, which will increase the company’s storage capacity by more than 35 percent. With the commissioning of this supply centre, the company will be able to accommodate large appliances and furniture category products with a storage capacity of 2 lakh square feet.
The company says that the local people will get different types of jobs for operating these storage centres. Not only this, opportunities like skill training will also be provided by the company for the employment of local people.
The Amazon India Company is continuously investing in Haryana, due to which the company will now have its 7th supply centre in the State. The storage centre, spread over 1.5 lakh square feet, will have a capacity of more than 6 lakh cubic feet. A large storage space will be provided here to more than 45,000 vendors. Amazon India says that this expansion will on one hand create new employment opportunities for the local people in Haryana, while ensuring reliable, speedy and safe delivery of their customers’ orders. A top Amazon India official has described Haryana as a preferable destination for investment in view of which the company is going to set up the seventh supply centre.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that due to the new industrial policy implemented by the State Government, ‘Haryana Industrial and Employment Policy-2020’, ‘Employment Generation Subsidy Scheme’ many companies such as ATL, Flipkart, Big companies like Maruti, Amazon India, Walmart, Vriddhi, Haqdarshak are continuously choosing Haryana for investment purposes. With this, while the pace of economic progress of Haryana will increase, it will also open the doors of employment for a large number of local people. Apart from this, small industries will also get a boost due to the arrival of such big companies in the State.
