The Haryana Government has directed the Hajis to take both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine during the year 2021.

Chandigarh, April 27 – The Haryana Government has directed the Hajis to take both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine during the year 2021.

While stating this here today, an official spokesperson of the Haryana State Haj Committee said that the Haj Ministry, Government of Saudi Arabia has informed that it is mandatory for applicants applying online for Haj to take both doses of COVID-19 vaccine before going on Haj.

He said that the Hajis would have to take the first dose of vaccine before going to Saudi Arabia and the second dose while going to Saudi Arabia. He said that without the certificate of the COVID vaccine, no one will be allowed to go to Saudi Arabia. He said that any Haji, who wishes to go on Haj, can get a certificate by contacting the medical officers of his respective district and taking a dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

He said that Haj Committee India, Mumbai has made it clear that no information has been received from the Saudi Government to send the Hajis to Hajj till now. He said that the decision to call or not to call the Hajis would be taken by the Saudi Government at its own level. He informed that Haj Committee India, Mumbai and State Haj Committee will take further action only according to the decision of the Saudi Arabian government. Therefore, Haj applicants are requested to be prepared at their level by taking both doses of COVID-19 vaccine before going on Haj.
