PHCs to be equipped with modern technology at a cost of Rs. 1.07 cr.

In view of the growing population in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, basic health facilities would be provided to every corner of the modern city. These views were expressed by Punjab Health & Family Welfare while laying the foundation stone of two Urban Primary Health Centers at Sector-69 and Sector-79. These centers would come at a cost of Rs 1.07 cr.
Mr. Sidhu said that extensive development works have been started in the villages and urban areas of district Mohali. He said that a new multi-storied block with 7 operating theaters is being constructed here at Medical College of Phase 6. The foundation stone of the Medical College building would be laid soon to cover more than 10 acres of land allotted by the Panchayats of Jujhar Nagar and Bahlolpur. Necessary roads will be constructed in the area and proper drainage arrangements will be made.
Health Minister further said that it was proposed to set up a Civil Hospital at Sector-66, Mohali for which procedure is underway to get land from GMADA. He said that in order to make health facilities accessible to all, the provision of health facilities in rural areas would be further strengthened. A primary health center would be set up at nearby village Saneta and a dispensary would be set up at Aerocity.
Talking about the Corona situation in Punjab, Mr. Sidhu said that the Punjab Government has intensified the testing of COVID-19 and due to the efforts of the government, the cases of Corona have started declining. He said that whether the third phase of Corona would come or not but the government was making all preparations.
On this occasion Mayor Municipal Corporation Mohali Mr. Amarjit Singh Jiti Sidhu, Deputy Mayor Mr. Kuljit Singh Bedi, Political Advisor to Health Minister Mr. Harkesh Chand Sharma, Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal Kaur, and other officials were also present.
