Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana to empower Farmers, Revolutionize Agriculture Sector

Haryana Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Minister Sh Shyam Singh Rana has expressed his gratitude to the Union Government, calling the 2025-26 Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman historic for farmers. He highlighted that the announcement of the “Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana” will provide significant benefits to farmers nationwide, particularly in the 100 districts with low agricultural production and economically disadvantaged farmers.

Sh Shyam Singh Rana said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, the Union Government has made several key decisions for the betterment of farmers. He said that the Budget includes a provision to increase the Kisan Credit Card loan limit from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, which will provide farmers across the country with easier access to loans, enabling them to enhance their crop production. He further emphasized, “This budget will boost farmers’ incomes, strengthen the agriculture sector, and accelerate rural development. The Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana will directly benefit 1.7 crore farmers, taking the agriculture sector to new heights.”

The Agriculture Minister also praised the government’s commitment to urea production, highlighting that the decision to restart three closed urea plants in eastern India will ensure an increased supply of urea, enabling timely access to fertilizers for farmers. In addition, a new urea plant with an annual capacity of 12.7 lakh metric tonnes will be established in Namrup, Assam, marking another step toward a self-reliant India.

He said that the Central Government has launched a six-year special mission aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production, with a focus on crops such as tur, urad, and masoor. This initiative will help reduce the country’s dependence on pulse imports while boosting farmers’ incomes.

Sh Shyam Singh Rana highlighted that the Budget places significant emphasis on implementing schemes in collaboration with state governments to promote rural prosperity. This will benefit farmers across the nation, including those in Haryana, and provide a new impetus to the agriculture sector.

He further remarked that these decisions by the Central Government will not only empower farmers but also strengthen the country’s agricultural economy. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, acknowledging their historic steps for the advancement of the agriculture sector.

Farmers of Haryana to receive special benefits

The Agriculture Minister said that the 2025-26 Budget will bring significant relief to the farmers of Haryana. He pointed out that several districts in the state face low agricultural production, and these areas will now receive special attention under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana. Additionally, the increased loan limit of the Kisan Credit Card will provide much-needed economic support to Haryana’s small and medium farmers.

He said that the Haryana Government, in collaboration with the Central Government, will ensure the successful implementation of these schemes so that farmers can reap the maximum benefits, helping Haryana become an ideal state in the agricultural sector.

Sh Shyam Singh Rana further stated that the 2025-26 Budget has brought a new ray of hope for farmers. He believes this budget will play a crucial role in bringing revolutionary changes to the agriculture sector, increasing farmers’ incomes, and advancing the goal of a self-reliant India.

He described the budget as a resolution to build a self-reliant India, embodying the power of trust, the aspiration for development, and the commitment to a developed nation. Sh Rana said that this budget is visionary and inclusive, addressing the needs of every section and region of society. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister for presenting a welfare-oriented budget.
