Gujarat’s Tasnim Mir bags the fourth place in the World Junior Ranking

Unnati Hooda wins the badminton final in Khelo India Youth Games by 2-1 

Chandigarh, June 7 – Unnati Hooda, a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, has won the gold medal by defeating Tasnim Mir, the world number four player.  Unnati Hooda defeated Tasnim Mir by 2-1 in the women’s badminton singles competition at Khelo India Youth Games held in Panchkula.

Notably, Tasnim Mir, who hails from Gujarat, holds the fourth position in the world junior rankings of badminton, while she is the first in the country in the junior rankings.

In the match held on Tuesday afternoon, Tasnim Mir gave a tough fight to Unnati Hooda in the first set and won the set by 21-9.  In the second set, Unnati made a strong comeback and won the set by 23-21.

Unnati Hooda dominated the game in the third set and won the set by 21-12 to win the gold medal.  Tasnim Mir won the bronze medal in this event while Haryana player Devika Sihag won the silver medal.’
