Vijai Vardhan paid floral tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
Chandigarh, December 7– Haryana Chief Secretary, Vijai Vardhan paid floral tributes to Architect of Indian constitution, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to mark his death anniversary, observed as “Mahaparinirvana Diwas” at Civil Secretariat, Haryana.
Vijai Vardhan inaugurated the ceremony by lighting a lamp at the programme organized by the Haryana Civil Secretariat Scheduled Caste / Tribe Employees Federation, Chandigarh.
In the programme, the Chief Secretary said that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar proved that a person can achieve anything with strong determination and hard work
Besides Masters in 64 subjects, Baba Saheb knew 9 languages and studied all major religions, he added.
Baba Saheb led his contribution to change working schedule from 14 to 8 hours a day in the country. Throughout his entire life, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar fought for empowering poor classes in the society. He was a supporter of promoting education, the Chief Secretary added.
The Chief Secretary said that all of us should follow the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. In the program, President of Haryana Civil Secretariat Scheduled Caste / Tribe Employees Federation, Mr. Satyawaan Saroha honoured the Chief Secretary by presenting a memento.
Among those present on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Pranab Kishore Das, Additional Chief, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dheera Khandelwal, Director General, Medical Education and Research, Amneet P.Kumar, Director, Welfare of Scheduled Castes & Backward Classes, Geeta Bharti and other senior officers.
