Work on WSS Ram Kund Chajjla in full swing: JSD

‘Adequate measures taken to meet shortage’
  JAMMU, MAY 02: Jal Shakti Department has informed that the work on Water Supply Scheme Ram Kund Chajjla is in full swing, while the department has taken short term measures to meet the immediate demand of water supply in the area.
Responding to a News Report  published in a section of  press,  the department stated that the WSS Ram Kund Chajjla is ongoing scheme under NABARD. In the said scheme 4  Bore Wells have been drilled and 4 sump tanks proposed near the Bore Wells are also completed. Further 4 pump room near sump tanks have been proposed out of which 2 are complete and rest are tendered.
For four Bore wells 8 rising mains are proposed for top stage out of which 6 rising main are laid and fitted yet to be commissioned. The work of other two rising main shall be completed by the contractors shortly.
However, the concerned AEE/JE have been directed to make all the efforts to supply water from existing network and make every effort to complete the balance work of the scheme in shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, responding to another news report about shortage of drinking water during holy month of Ramdhan in Topa Thera area,  the Assistant Executive Engineer PHE Sub Division Mendhar has intimated that the distribution system was damaged by some unknown miscreants in village Topa Thera. The AEE has approached to SHO Police station Mendhar and SHO visited the spot for further enquiry.
However, AEE/JE concerned have been directed to make some temporary alternate arrangement, so that water supply of the affected households is restored.
