Encyclopedia of government schemes ”Pahunch” now available as mobile app, Deputy Commissioner

The encyclopedia of government schemes and their details, named Pahunch booklet, is now available on Google Play Store and has been downloaded by more than 8400 people so far.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur said that under the project Pahunch, all the government schemes of various departments have been published in the form of a booklet by the district administration. It was taken to masses through public camps at the village level.
Under this project, Pahunch books were distributed to common people through Anganwari workers, Asha workers, patwari, health department, agriculture department and others. In the areas where the people were less educated, with the help of non-governmental organizations, the existing schemes of the respective classes were read to them so that they would not be deprived of the benefits of the government schemes.

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Punamdeep Kaur said that District administration Barnala has created project Pahunch to provide accurate information about government schemes to the common people. Through this, people not only easily get information about various schemes but also the documents required to avail the scheme, where to deposit and how to get the benefit.
Along with delivering the books to the common people, copies of the books have also been provided to government offices, service centers, common service centers etc. These public service provider departments/people get information about required documents, eligibility, address of respective office etc. to avail the schemes through Pahunch booklet. With this, they file the applications of common people in a proper manner so that people can avail the benefits of the schemes without any hassle.
She said that through the Pahunch mobile app, developed by NIC Barnala, now even people technologically savvy have easy access to  accurate information. Pahunch mobile app is available on Google Play Store for both Android and Apple phone users.
So far more than 8400 people have downloaded this app which has information available in both Punjabi and English languages. The Deputy Commissioner said that this app is very easy to use.
She added that any person can download it, fill the details as per his / her requirement and he / she will get the details of the schemes related to him/ her, address of the offices, list of required documents and information about his eligibility.
She appealed to the residents of Barnala to download this app and tell educate others around then about the app.
