English novel “Summer Enigma” by Pratibha Sharma & Baruni Arora released today

Novel released by Dr Surjit Patar, Dr SP Singh in presence of several other personalities at Sutlej Club

English novel “Summer Enigma”, penned by teenagers Pratibha Sharma & Baruni Arora, was released at Sutlej Club today. The novel was released by eminent Punjabi poet Dr Surjit Patar, former vice chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University Dr SP Singh, writer and former IAS officer Jung Bahadur Goyal, eminent Punjabi poet Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Rakesh Agrawal, besides several others in presence of several other personalities.
Pratibha Arora is the daughter of Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma and has penned this novel along with her best friend Baruni Arora. Both Pratibha and Baruni are 14 years of age.
While speaking on the occasion, Pratibha Sharma and Baruni Arora informed that during the lockdown period, they both decided to pen down their thoughts that eventually took the shape of a novel. They used to study together at Jalandhar but when Varinder Kumar Sharma was transferred to Ludhiana, both remained in touch through social media and made full utilisation of the available time. The book’s title cover has been designed by Pratibha’s elder sister Madhvi Sharma.
At present, Pratibha is a student of Sacred Heart Convent School Sarabha Nagar Ludhiana, while Baruni Arora is a student of Innocent Hearts School Jalandhar. Baruni’s father Manhar Arora is Managing Director of St Soldier Group of Institutions.
On the occasion, Dr Surjit Patar, Dr SP Singh, Jung Bahadur Goyal wished good luck to both the young writers and urged our youth to take cue from their joint initiative and be more expressive rather than wasting time on social media.
The prominent personalities present during today’s function included Ranjodh Singh, Punjabi Sahit Akademi president Prof Ravinder Bhathal, family members of both Pratibha and Baruni, besides several others.
