Erring traders fined in Kishtwar amid intensive market checking
KISHTWAR, APRIL 29: Erring traders were today fined amid intensive market checking drive in Kishtwar Township launched to keep check on overcharging and ensure quality of food items in the holy month of Ramzan.
 A surprise market checking was conducted by a team of officials led by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Akhter Hussain Qazi in the main market of Kishtwar town on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma.
 The team comprised Tehsildar Pramod Kumar; Executive Officer M.C. Kishtwar Tariq Balwan; Station House Officer, Food Safety Officer, Sanitary Inspector and other field staff.
 Scores of shops selling Fruits, Vegetables, Bakery, mutton and Poultry were checked and on spot fine amounting to Rs.7200 was realized from the erring Shopkeepers.
The Shopkeepers were asked to sell only quality food stuff on the approved rate list to the customer. They were also asked to display the rate list of items at conspicuous places in their shops for the information of customers.
