In view of the festive season, the district administration of Barnala has fixed the time for lightning firecrackers. Disclosing this here today District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr. Kumar Saurabh Raj said that this time only green firecrackers were allowed during the festive season as per the directions of the Punjab Government.

On the day of Diwali on November 4 firecrackers can be fired from 8 pm to 10 pm. Similarly, on the occasion of Gurpurab on November 19 firecrackers will be allowed to be fired from 4 to 5 in the morning and from 9 to 10 in the evening. Fireworks can be set off at Christmas Eve on December 25 – 26 from 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm. Similarly, from December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022, fireworks will be allowed from 11:55 pm to 12:30 pm.
Giving more details, he said that it was forbidden to set off joined firecrackers (series or laries) within the limits of Barnala district. Only green crackers can be fired. Green crackers are those that do not contain hazardous chemicals such as barium, antimony, lithium, mercury, arsenic, lead or strontium chromate. He said that crackers can be sold only by licensees. Even those who have been given temporary licenses can only sell green crackers.
