Follow Shivaji Maharaj for Good Governance

Stressing over the need to follow the ideals and thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the legendary Maratha warrior Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant asked the people of the State to co operate and support the endeavours of the Government for delivering good governance, achieve self sufficiency and for sustainable development under Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa campaign. Addressing at the 391 Birth Anniversary celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the State Level Function organised by Department of Information and Publicity in association with Village Panchayat Bandora and Zilla Panchayat Kavlem, the Chief Minister reaffirmed Government’s commitment for the welfare of the common men irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He said, the great maratha king Shivaji Maharaj had concern for the betterment of his people and this Government too is working in that direction. This, he said, is evident from the fact that the State Government has already done efforts with the appointment of Swayampurna Mitra who pays visit to all the 191 Gram Panchayats of the State to resolve the problem and grievances of the people and provide them basic amenities including infrastructure, welfare schemes and other facilities. The function was attended by Minister, Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude; Shri Ravi Naik, MLA; Chairperson, Ponda Municipal Council, Shri Vishwanath Dalvi; Zilla Panchayat Member, Shri Shramesh Bhosle; Director, Department of Information and Publicity, Shri Sudhir Kerkar and Key Note Speaker from Mumbai, Shri Chandrashekhar Patil. Stating that Government has a vision for well planned development for next 25 years the Chief Minister said, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during his lifetime worked tirelessly to fight against the colonial rule and to preserve the religion and culture. He also underscored the need to opt for Krishi Sanskriti which he pointed out was adopted by Shivaji Maharaj.

CM said the ‘Make in India’ concept of the Union Government existed during Shivaji rule and he also used the arms and ammunition and other equipments which were made in India. We need to emulate his example so that we can become self sufficient in all aspects of human endeavour. Chief Minister said, the staging of historical marathi dramas on Shivaji Maharaj in all talukas of the State as part of celebration of the birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj aims at enlightening the people and particularly the younger generation about his ideals and history. Minister for Art and Culture, Shri Govind Gaude in his address said that, we should inculcate in our minds good qualities of Shivaji Maharaj. This he said, could be achieved by watching dramas and reading history of Shivaji Maharaj. Shri Gaude said the great maratha king was astute and able administrator who rejuvenated and maintained peoples identity. He said Shivaji Maharaj was very shrewd and he conquered several forts. He is the only king having number of statues in different parts of the country he said. Shri Chandrashekhar Patil from Mumbai gave the key note address on the life and work of Shivaji Maharaj.
