Gang involved in selling illegal weapons busted, 11 illegal weapons recovered

Chandigarh, May 20 – Busting a gang involved in manufacturing and selling illegal weapons, Haryana Police has arrested an accused from district Mathura, Uttar Pradesh after it recovered 10 country-made pistols and one desi doga from his possession.

              Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused and his accomplices used to make illegal weapons sitting in raw drains in the fields and sell them for about 3000 to 4000 rupees.

               The arrested accused has been identified as Haji Hanif, a resident of Hathiyaka presently living at Nangla district Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

              As part of a crackdown against illegal arms in Mahendergarh district, the CIA team arrested Hanuman alias Kalia and recovered 1 country-made doga, 1 revolver and 6 cartridges from his possession. During interrogation, the accused revealed about the illegal arms supplier Samin alias Sameer, who was arrested from Mewat area with 1 country-made pistol and two live cartridges.

              During the interrogation of Samin, it was revealed that Haji Hanif, a resident of Mathura district, is also involved in the gang that engaged in manufacturing and selling illegal weapons. Taking prompt action, the police team arrested him from district Mathura. During the interrogation, 10 country-made pistols, one desi doga and a large quantity of material used in manufacturing illegal weapons recovered from him.

              So far, 14 illegal including 11 country-made pistols, 2 desi doga, 1 revolver and 8 cartridges have been recovered from the possession of the three accused. Other accused involved in manufacturing and selling illegal weapons will also be in the police net in the coming days, he added.
