Government will improve the economic condition of mills by setting up different new projects in sugar mills: Dr. Banwari Lal

Cooperation Minister inaugurated the sale of ethanol produced in 60 KLPD Ethanol Plant in Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mill

 

Chandigarh, July 25 :- Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal said that the state government is working to improve the economic condition of the mills by undertaking different projects in the sugar mills of the state. With this scheme, when the economic condition of the sugar mills will be strengthened, then the farmers producing sugarcane will get the payment of the crop on time. The important aspect is that the government has paid the sugarcane growers of all the cooperative sugar mills and the money has been deposited directly into the accounts of the farmers.

Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal was speaking at the inauguration programme of sale of ethanol produced at 60 KLPD Ethanol Plant, Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mills Limited, on Monday. Earlier, Dr. Banwari Lal and along with him, Chairman, Sugar Fed and Shahbad MLA, Sh. Ramkaran Kala, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Mukul Kumar, Managing Director, Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mills, Sh. Rajiv Prasad flagged off the ethanol truck to start the ethanol sales work.

The Cooperation Minister said that this initiative has been started from Palwal, Jind, Sonipat and Kaithal Sugar Mills. Apart from this, the work of making jaggery and sugar has also been started in Palwal, Kaithal and Meham Sugar Mills and Refined Sugar has also been started in Rohtak Sugar Mills. This will generate income for the mills which in turn will benefit the farmers.

He said that as per the directions of the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, continuous improvement is being done in the mills and new varieties are being used to increase the recovery rate. He said that Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mills is one of the best sugar mills in India. This mill produced 7.39 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 73.15 lakh quintals of sugarcane in the last crushing season 2021-22. The recovery of sugar in this mill was 10.10 per cent and export of electricity of 4.76 crore units earned an income of Rs. 19.24 crore. He said that the mill has set a target of crushing 80 lakh quintals of sugarcane, 11 percent sugar recovery, 8.80 lakh quintals of sugar and about 50 million units of electricity in the crushing season 2022-23.
