Haryana jumps up to 3rd place in India Innovation Index
Chandigarh, July 21 :- Haryana Government is creating a conducive environment to encourage innovation. To ensure overall development in the state, the state government has taken many new initiatives in every field. The government has done the work of promoting innovation in the fields of agriculture and industry. It is the result of the policies of the Haryana Government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal to encourage public welfare schemes and innovation that Haryana has become one of the top states in NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021. Haryana has been ranked 3rd in this index.
Congratulating the people of the state on this achievement, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the Haryana Government is continuously committed to promoting sustainable development. He said that Haryana was ranked sixth in the index released in January 2021, but this time Haryana has climbed three places to join the top states.
It may be mentioned that the India Innovation Index 2021 was released by the Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, Sh. Suman Bery in the presence of dignitaries. The India Innovation Index prepared by NITI Aayog and the Institute of Competitiveness is a comprehensive tool for evaluating and developing the country’s innovation ecosystem. It ranks the states and union territories on their innovation performance to create healthy competition among them.
This innovation index has been prepared on the lines of Global Innovation Index. In the previous editions the analysis was based on 36 indicators but this time 66 indicators were used. The first and second innovation indexes were released in October 2019 and January 2021, respectively.
