Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department review meeting held in Panchkula
Chandigarh, January 7- Joint Director, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Dr. L.C Ranga today held a review meeting with veterinarians of Panchkula district. The meeting was held at Pet Animal Medical Centre, Panchkula. In this meeting, the veterinarians apprised the Joint Director about situation of the spread of disease among poultry birds in their area.
In the meeting, Dr. Ranga expressed satisfaction with the action taken by the department to combat the disease spread and further directed the veterinarians to keep a close vigil on the cases of unusual death of poultry birds in the poultry farms across the district. It was informed that the department has sent the samples of dead birds to the Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Jalandhar, and National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal and the reports are still awaited.
It was informed that ‘Rapid Response’ teams have been formed by the department to deal with any possible situation. During the meeting, the veterinarians were directed to conduct a survey of backyard poultry in their respective areas.
Dr. Sukhdev Rathee, Deputy Director (AW) Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department and Dr. Anil Banwala, Deputy Director, Animal Husbandry and Dairying also gave necessary guidelines to the veterinarians to deal with the disease.
