Haryana Government directs Sports Federations to strictly adhere to SOP while organising any sports activities
Chandigarh, March 17 – While ensuring safety of sportspersons in view of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, Haryana Government has directed the Sports Federations to strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) while organising any sports activities.
Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh shared this information today. He said that the Federations should ensure proper arrangement of boarding and lodging while organizing sports activities or tournaments.
The Minister said that if a federation is organizing any type of tournament in the state or is hosting a national level tournament in Haryana, then they will have to strictly follow COVID-19 norms. These norms include conducting a COVID-19 test before 72 hours, conducting a regular rapid test of the players and sanitizing their residing places.
He said that all Federations must follow these guidelines and norms and if a player gets infected with the COVID-19 virus, then the Federation will be held responsible for this. Therefore, the Federations organizing the tournaments must meticulously follow COVID related SOPs.
