Haryana Government has given about Rs. 46.16 crore loan and other financial assistance to women self help groups of the State

Chandigarh, August 12 – Haryana Government has given about Rs. 46.16 crore loan and other financial assistance to women self help groups of the State in order to empower them whereas funds of more than Rs. 20 crore were given during the Prime Minister programme today.

Today, the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, under the programme ‘Atmanirbhar Nari Shakti Se Samvad’, spoke to empowered women from across the country doing important work in ‘Self Help Groups’ from New Delhi through video conferencing. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala attended the programme virtually from Chandigarh.

Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Rural Development Department, informed after the programme that women of ‘self-help groups’ who are doing good work in the State will be made to visit big projects related to their work so that they can increase their business.

He informed that 4,91,120 families are connected through 46,163 ‘Self Help Groups’ in 142 blocks of the State by ‘Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission’. An amount of Rs. 36.53 crore was provided by the mission to 35,310 ‘Self Help Groups’ as financial assistance. He further informed that through 2.916 village organizations and 130 cluster level federations, 37,444 self-help groups have been provided funds worth Rs 361.66 crore as community investment fund by the mission.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that funds of more than Rs. 20.38 crore have been released by the Prime Minister to the women of ‘self-help groups’ during the programme today, out of which Rs. 154.65 lakh has been distributed to ‘self-help groups’ of Ambala district. Apart from these, Self-help groups of Bhiwani district were given Rs. 118.6 lakh, Charkhi Dadri were given Rs. 156.55 lakh, Faridabad were given Rs. 56 lakh, Fatehabad were given Rs. 85.3 lakh, Gurugram were given Rs. 91.1 lakh, Hisar were given Rs. 28.77 lakh, Jhajjar were given Rs. 72.15 lakh, Jind were given Rs. 216.95 lakh, Kaithal were given Rs. 41.9 lakh, Karnal were given Rs. 74 lakh, Kurukshetra were given Rs. 69.1 lakh, Mahendragarh were given Rs. 59.1 lakh, Nuh were given Rs. 121.4 lakh, Palwal were given  Rs. 73.1 lakh, Panchkula were given Rs. 74.1, Panipat were given Rs. 62.45, Rewari were given Rs. 91.35 lakh, Rohtak were given Rs. 45.1 lakh, Sirsa were given Rs. 115.55 lakh, Sonipat were given Rs. 40 lakhs and Rs. 191.35 lakh was given to ‘Self Help Groups’ of Yamunanagar district.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the ‘Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission’ provided Rs. 26.16 crore from various banks as loan for boosting self employment. Apart from this vehicle-loans worth about Rs. 4.71 crore were given to the women belonging to self-help groups of the state so that they can sell their products by transporting them from the ease of their vehicles.
