Haryana Government has reconstituted a 20-member committee under the Department of Environment and Climate Change
Chandigarh, July 24 – Haryana Government has reconstituted a 20-member committee under the Department of Environment and Climate Change regarding the issue of effluents being released in Agra Canal and Gurugram Canal. The committee has been reconstituted under the chairmanship of Transport and Mines & Geology Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma.
Giving information in this regard an official spokesman of the Department said that this committee, headed by Mr. Mool Chand Sharma, will give suggestions for formulating an action plan on the implementation of orders issued in the year 1994 regarding the issue of effluents being released in Agra Canal and Gurugram Canal.
He informed that besides Transport and Mines & Geology Minister Mr. Mool Chand Sharma, 15 MLAs and Additional Chief Secretaries of three departments will be members of this committee. He said that the MLAs who have been made members of the committee include, Mr. Sudhir Singla from Gurugram, Mr. Sanjay Singh from Sohna, Mr. Satya Prakash from Pataudi, Mr. Rakesh Daultabad from Badshahpur MLA, Mr. Aftab Ahmed from Nuh, Mr. Maman Khan from Ferozepur Jhirka, Mr. Mohammed Ilyas from Punhana, Mrs. Seema Trikha from Badkhal, Mr. Rajesh Nagar from Tigaon, Mr. Neeraj Sharma from NIT Faridabad, Mr. Nayan Pal Rawat from Prithla, Mr. Praveen Dagar from Hathin, Mr. Jagdish Nayar from Hodal and Mr. Deepak Mangla from Palwal.
He informed that Additional Chief Secretaries of the Departments of Environment and Climate Change, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Irrigation and Water Resources will also be members of this committee. In addition, the Member Secretary of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board will be the member convener of the committee.
