Haryana Government increases sugarcane rate by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 350 per quintal in the interest of sugarcane growers

Chandigarh, December 18: While taking a significant decision in interest of sugarcane growers in the State, Haryana Government has decided to increase the rate of sugarcane (State Advised Price) by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 350 per quintal for the crushing season 2020-21 which is the highest in the country.

While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved a proposal in this regard. This increase in the rate of sugarcane has been made to benefit the farmers of Haryana.

He said that apart from this, Mr. Manohar Lal has also approved the proposal for providing subsidy to the sugarcane farmers for the current crushing season 2020-21 on the pattern of 2018-19 and 2019-20 crushing seasons. He said that an amount of over Rs 81.37 crore for crushing season 2018-19 and over Rs 124.14 crore for crushing season 2019-20 upto May, 2020 was provided as subsidy to different sugar mills in the State.
