Chandigarh, June 22 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’s Welfare Minister, Sh. JP Dalal said that the present state government is implementing various schemes keeping in mind the upliftment and interests of the farmers by giving maximum benefits to the small and marginal farmers through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
The Minister was presiding over a review meeting with Cluster Based Professional Organizations (CBBOs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) here today. Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Dr. Sumita Misra was also present in the meeting.
Sh. Dalal told the CBBO and FPO representatives that through FPO, the income of the farmer should increase and the farmer should get the benefits, so that their expenditure is reduced and their income increases through processing. In addition, farmers should also benefit from marketing through FPOs.

He said that Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal aims to ensure that small farmers get the benefit of their produce, no matter what value-addition is done to their produce, and the input cost of the farmer should also be reduced. Sh. Dalal said that our Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and the present government also have the same goal that FPOs should work in this direction so that small farmers can reap maximum benefit. He said that if FPOs move in this direction and small farmers get benefit, it will be considered that such FPO is working successfully. He said that in the coming time, audit and pre-audit will also be conducted to evaluate the benefits to such small farmers.
The Agriculture Minister said that progressive farmers are a role model for other farmers and the members of FPOs should consider the upliftment and progress of the farmers to make them financially strong and for this all possible help and cooperation will be provided by the department.
Earlier, Dr. Sumita Misra said that the present Haryana government wants FPOs to become a strong movement and farmers should think like and become agri-entrepreneurs and move forward to reap the benefits of their produce. In this direction, in the coming time, a workshop will also be organized for the FPOs that have been established so that they can be provided information about management, she added.
