Haryana Governor-Chancellor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya has called upon students to strive to become job givers, and not job seekers

Haryana Governor-Chancellor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya has called upon students to strive to become job givers, and not job seekers. They should become entrepreneurs. “I am pleased that you have got degrees from the university. Knowledge and skills acquired from the university should be used not only for getting jobs but also for giving jobs. Be a job giver, not a job seeker,” said Sh. Dattatraya while addressing the first convocation of Gurugram University, Gurugram, today.

Calling upon the degree-holders to work hard for the overall development of the country and society by becoming the chief architect of new India, Sh. Dattatraya said, “Education is not just a means of getting employment but a means to pave the path for the welfare of humanity. Equipped with knowledge and skills, degree holders should play a proactive role in achieving the broader objectives of life and the nation.”

Sh. Dattatraya presented degrees to about 270 students of 2018 and 2019 batches of 16 departments in the convocation today. Gold medals were also awarded to 17 students at the function. He conveyed his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the degree holders. The first convocation ceremony of Gurugram University was duly inaugurated with the lighting of lamps by the guests and offering prayers to ‘Maa Saraswati.’

Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University, Dr. Markandey Ahuja, while congratulating the degree and medal recipients for their golden future, said that “today is a historic day for you and for Gurugram University because today we all have witnessed the first convocation of the university.”

Haryana’s Principal Secretary, Education, Sh. Anand Mohan Sharan, MLA, Sh. Sudhir Singla, MLA, Satyaprakash Jarawata, Chairman, HRERA, Sh. KK Khandelwal, Member of Academic Planning Board, Dr. Anju Ahuja, members of the University Executive Council, Academic Planning Board, Court, and other guests were present on the occasion.
