Haryana Foreign Cooperation Minister, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh urged parents to avoid shortcuts like “Donkey routes” when sending their children abroad. He said that parents should send children abroad only with the guidance of the Foreign Cooperation Department.
The Minister further informed that the state government is closely monitoring illegal immigration agencies involved in “Kabutarbazi” (human trafficking) and will take strict legal action against them. He warned youth against falling prey to such illegal means.
To address this issue, the state government has established a separate Foreign Cooperation Department. Recognizing the significant demand for drivers, plumbers, masons, and other construction workers in the UAE and other Arab countries, the government is offering facilities for learning foreign languages and obtaining certifications from related agencies. Importantly, the state government will bear the cost of these certifications. The Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to providing skills as per the needs of foreign countries. A policy is being framed to train Haryana’s youth in various foreign languages to facilitate this. Furthermore, the Haryana government has launched a portal through the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam for youth interested in working abroad. By registering on this portal, youth can secure legitimate opportunities to work abroad.He cautioned that using illegal means like the “Donkey route” for going abroad which can not only lead to physical and financial hardships but also pose a significant risk to life.
