Haryana Police arrests criminal from Jind
Chandigarh, Dec 7– In a major catch, Haryana Police have arrested a criminal, carrying a reward of Rs one lakh from Jind district. One illegal pistol, two magazines, and five live cartridges have also been recovered from his possession.
Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused was identified as Ankit, a resident of Kultana in Rohtak district. Cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, and under Arms Act were registered against him in Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Gurugram districts.
Arrested an offender who was involved in several criminal cases was absconding after he along with his accomplices fired a gunshot at a Sarpanch of Alipulra (Sohna) on July 15, 2020. Gurugram Police had been looking for the accused for a long time. DGP Haryana had also announced a reward of Rs one lakh on his arrest.
Giving further details, he said that a police team after getting a secret input about the presence of a youth, who was roaming at Kaccha by-pass near Julana bus stand along with an illegal pistol, had immediately swung into action and nabbed him along with illegal arms.
During preliminary interrogation, accused had informed that he had purchased this illegal pistol at a cost of Rs 40,000 from one of his aides.
After registration of a case, accused had been taken on remand by being produced in the Court and the matter is under investigation.
