Haryana Police seizes 32.5 kg ‘chura post’, two held

Chandigarh, June 2- Haryana Police on Wednesday arrested two persons on the charges of drug-peddling and seized 32.5 kg ‘chura post’ from their possession in Sirsa district.

          Giving this information here today, a spokesperson from Haryana Police said that a team of Crime Investigation Agency while conducting checking near Musahibwala area in the district signalled a truck coming from Punjab side to stop for checking. When searched, 18 kg 500 gram of chura post was recovered from the accused drier identified as Satbir, a resident of preet nagar, Sirsa.

          In the second incident, a police team during patrolling and checking near burj karamgarh area had signalled a truck to stop for checking. The search of the cabin of the vehicle led to seizure of 14 kg of said drug. The arrested accused has been identified as Devender Pal alias Sonu, a resident of Sirsa.

          Cases under the provisions of the NDPS Act were registered against them. They will be taken on remand by producing them in the Court so that the names of others involved in drug peddling could be unearthed. Further investigation is on, he added.
