Chandigarh, June 19- Haryana Transport and Mining Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma was yet again in action as he conducted a surprise inspection on the banks of Yamuna river in district Faridabad and Palwal after receiving complaints from villagers about illegal sand theft in this area.
The Minister visited the villages of Rajupur and Doshpur in Palwal district on the banks of Yamuna.
While giving strict instructions to the officers concerned, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that strict action should be taken against those indulging in illegal sand theft in the said area.
He said that due to this sand theft on the banks of Yamuna, the government is facing losses worth crores of rupees. He said that illegal sand mining would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It may be noted that prominent persons from several villages had met Cabinet Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma to take action against mining mafia in Yamuna. The villagers had alleged that illegal sand mining even continued in wee hours at night and there is a fear of road accidents as the chances of accidents due to overloaded dumpers are high.
