Haryana will prepare standard operating procedure (SoP) for use of drones: Chief Secretary

Sanjeev Kaushal directs to constitute a four-member committee

Chandigarh, June 22 :- Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed to constitute a four-member committee under the chairmanship of Director General (CID) to prepare Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) under Drone Policy in the state. To maintain peace and security in the state, there should be no unauthorized use of drones in the state. Apart from the SOP, the committee will suggest alternatives to further strengthen the policy, he said.

Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal gave these directions during a meeting to review the case of mobile and interception here today.

The Deputy Commissioner, Ambala and Superintendent of Police, Ambala and representative from LR Department will be the members of this committee. The committee will submit its report in 15 days.

He also directed that the police personnel should be trained for the use of drones, drone surveillance and prevention of drone infiltration. It was apprised in the meeting that the Central Government has approved the request regarding imparting drone training to the police personnel.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora and Director General (CID) besides other senior officers of Police Department were present in the meeting.
