7 medals added to Haryana’s kitty including 3 gold in shooting
Chandigarh, June 9 – Haryana has emerged as the overall champion in the ongoing shooting competitions in Delhi under Khelo India Youth Games – 2021. Haryana’s Ramita won the gold medal in the girls’ 10m air rifle final held on Thursday. In the same competition, Haryana’s Harshita won the bronze medal and the silver medal went to Rajasthan’s Devanshi.
With the medals won today, a total of 7 medals including 3 gold have been added to Haryana’s kitty in shooting competitions. Haryana has won 7 medals in shooting competitions, which includes 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.
Haryana won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in a clean sweep in the 10m Girls Air Pistol Shooting. Similarly, Haryana also won gold and silver medals in boys’ 10m air pistol. Apart from this, the gold and bronze medals in the girls’ 10m air rifle also went to Haryana’s account. Whereas in the medal tally of shooting, West Bengal stood second with 1 gold and 1 silver.
The performance of the players of Haryana in the Khelo India Youth Games – 2021 has been commendable. On Thursday also, one more gold medal was added to Haryana’s kitty in weightlifting. Ashish won the gold medal in weightlifting in 102 kg weight category. While Ashish of Uttar Pradesh got silver and Paramveer Singh of Chandigarh had to be content with bronze.
Haryana sees victory in boxing
Haryana started with a victory in the boxing competitions that started at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula. In girls’ boxing match, Geetika of Haryana registered her victory by defeating Neha of Chandigarh. Similarly, in another match Tamana of Haryana defeated Kajal of Chandigarh. Also, in boys’ boxing match, Ashish of Haryana defeated Mizoram’s Zorammuana. All the winning players have advanced to the next round with this win.
