Samples taken & have been sent for checking in lab: Dr Gurpreet Singh

The health department officials along with crime branch Ludhiana and as per directions of civil surgeon Dr S.P. Singh and team under Dr. Gurpreet Singh Designated Officer Food Safety inspected a premises located at Barewal Road Ludhiana where Desi Ghee was being manufactured illegally in a private house.

District Health Officer Dr Gurpreet Singh informed that the team recovered 450 litre ghee in packings of 1 litre, 90 litre ghee in packing of 500 ml, 75 litre ghee in packing of 5 litre, 275 litre loose desi ghee, 1380 litre vanaspati and refined, and 6 litre of essence.
Dr Gurpreet Singh informed that the team also recovered 1050 card board cartons, 315 empty tins of 15 kg refined oil, and more than 5000 empty plastic jars meant for packing the ghee. 07 samples were taken for analysis, out of which 4 were of Desi Ghee, 1 of vanaspati (adulterant), 1 of refined oil (adulterant), and 1 of Desi Ghee flavor (adulterant), all stock was seized on the spot and the premises was also sealed.
