In a historic step towards empowering rural communities, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, today virtually distributed property cards under the Svamitva Scheme to Abadi Deh owners across various states and Union Territories. Among the beneficiaries were the residents of Sani Village in Tehsil Zanskar, marking a transformative milestone for the region’s development.
The program, organized under the Panchayati Raj framework by the Block Development Department, witnessed enthusiastic participation. The event began with a warm welcome speech by the Block Development Officer (BDO) Zanskar, who emphasized the significance of the occasion and its positive impact on rural governance.
Tehsildar Zanskar gave an insightful address on the Svamitva Scheme, shedding light on its objectives, which include creating a robust legal framework for rural land ownership and facilitating economic empowerment.
He also provided a detailed overview of the ongoing LLARMA survey, terming it a ground-breaking initiative in the digitization of land records and improved transparency.
Subsequently, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar further highlighted the importance of the Svamitva Scheme, explaining how it will bring long-term benefits to rural communities by reducing land disputes, promoting economic activities, and enabling access to financial services.
The SDM congratulated the beneficiaries and underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening rural infrastructure and governance. The SDM also highlighted the importance of LLARMA survey in ensuring accurate and transparent land record management.
Nambardar and other respected members of Sani Village, along with officers and officials from the Revenue and Block Department also graced the event with their presence. Their participation demonstrated the community’s strong support and collective efforts toward development.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Naib Tehsildar Zanskar, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his visionary leadership and to all stakeholders for their dedication in implementing the scheme successfully.
During the event, a total of 73 property cards were virtually distributed to the Abadi Deh owners of Sani Village. Notably, 5 female beneficiaries were among those who received property cards, underscoring the government’s focus on gender equity and inclusion in rural development.
This initiative is set to bring transformative changes to the lives of rural landowners by providing them with secure land rights, reducing disputes, and enabling them to access loans and participate in developmental schemes. The distribution of property cards under the Svamitva Scheme reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to building a self-reliant and progressive rural India.
