The ICDS Project Shargole today celebrated Poshan Pakhwada at Shargole Panchayat Halqa. The Ministry of Women and Child Development has directed for celebration of Poshan Pakhwada during the month of March-April.
The program stressed on Promotion and Popularization of Shree Anna/millets for nutritional well-being, celebration of Swasth Balak Spardha and popularizing Saksham Anganwadi. The program was inaugurated by CDPO Shargole in the presence of Sarpanch Shargole, Mohd Hassan.
Representatives of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, staff of ICDS Shargole, Anganwadi Helpers, Workers, pregnant/lactating mothers and the general public were present on the occasion.
In the program, the CDPO took the new recipes to helpers and prepared them for the people who were present in the program. The resource persons from FCS&CA gave awareness about the schemes and distributed booklet to the public.
Supervisor Pumchok Dolma informed the participants about the monitoring of child at the centre level and threw light on ICDS schemes introduced by the Union Government.
The participants were informed about the utilization of Millets in their day life, particularly ICDS beneficiaries because Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 have mandate to supply millets at least once a week under the SNP.
The CDPO focussed on improving nutritional outcomes, especially among the beneficiaries and adolescent girls in a holistic manner. She also focussed on behavioral change at the individual and community level to achieve the desired goal of the Poshan Abhiyaan.
Sarpanch Shargole stressed that the aim of the initiative is to raise public awareness at the project level and appraised the CDPO to conduct the program at their Panchayat Halqa. The program concluded with vote of thanks presented by the CDPO.
