IITTM organizes workshop on Swachh Bharat Swachh Paryatan at Kargil
KARGIL JANUARY 22, 2021: A team from Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), an organization under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, organized a workshop on Swachh Bharat Swachh Paryatan, for the tourism stakeholders of Kargil in the presence of Director IITTM, Prof. Alok Sharma at Hotel PC Palace, Kargil here today.
District Cultural Officer Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak was invited as the chief guest while Ms Alka Kaushik, Travel Writer and Blogger and Dr Chandra Shekhar Barua, Assistant Professor, IITTM were the expert speakers during the event.
The event was coordinated by Dr Ravinder Dogra, Assistant Professor, IITTM.
During the workshop, short documentaries on Swachhata and on 7 S were displayed to make tourism stakeholders aware regarding the need of cleanliness in tourism places.
The participants were made aware about the best practices related to cleanliness adopted or initiated in different parts of the country for future sustainable growth of tourism.
It was a two way interactive workshop, where participants participated actively and also shared their views and observations and took Swachhata Pledge at the end of the program.
During his address, Prof Alok Sharma, Director IITTM stressed on the importance of cleanliness at tourist places and mentioned the challenges faced by different tourist destinations of India in maintaining cleanliness.
Vote of thanks was given by Shivram Maurya, Program Officer, IITTM.
From IITTM, K.P Gautam, Siddhath Dhabade, Deepak Mittal, Prince Raj Mathur, Aditya Katariya and Rohit Sen were also present at the event.
