Helpdesk will inform about various facilities being provided by the present State Government to NRIs belonging to Haryana and other NRI entrepreneurs of the country – Chief Minister

Chandigarh, April 7 :- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that to boost the development of the state and in view of the welfare of the people, a Helpdesk would be set up by the state government to woo investment in Canada. For this, the Government of India would be consulted. He said that this Helpdesk would provide information to NRIs belonging to Haryana and other NRI entrepreneurs of the country with regard to setting up their enterprises in the state as well as various facilities being provided by the present state government.

The Chief Minister was interacting with a delegation of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) here today. This delegation from Canada visited various cities of the country namely Delhi, Lucknow, Jammu, Ahmedabad under the India Mission-2022 and in this series this delegation met the Chief Minister of Haryana in Chandigarh today. The India Mission-2022 programme of this delegation started from March 26 to April 9.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the concerned officers to prepare a draft for setting up the Helpdesk. He said that the state of Haryana is ready to move ahead with the Haryanvi diaspora.

While apprising the members of the delegation, he said that Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has been set up in Palwal so as to generate employment for youth. He said that every year around 12,000 youth would be imparted training and their skills would be honed. Apart from this, Haryana Government has also set up Overseas Placement Cell for the youth seeking job abroad so that the youth can be sent abroad for employment in a systematic manner.

While interacting with the delegation, the Chief Minister said that we want to lay emphasis on exporting agro-based products and in this series Basmati rice is also being exported to some countries through HAFED. He said that Haryana is ahead in many areas like production of two wheeler, car production and automobile industry.

To give ease and relaxation to the investors and to attract investment in Haryana, Sh. Manohar Lal said that various places have been defined as A, B, C, D category. Referring to the ‘D’ category, he said that for setting up enterprises in this category, various benefits are being given on land, electricity subsidy and employment at affordable rates. He said that an excellent airport is being established in Hisar and there are various proposals and provisions for setting up aeronautic industry here.

The Chief Minister said that the state wants to do revolutionary work in the areas of drones, aeronautics, data centre, food processing, environment and waste disposal. On this occasion, he also invited the members of ICCC to run their respective ventures and programmes in the state, including these areas.

During the meeting, ICCC President Ripudaman Singh Dhillon apprised the Chief Minister that under the India Mission-2022 programme, he is on a tour of the country under the Make in India programme. He said that whatever the delegation experiences here during their visit to India will be shared with the members of ICCC in Canada. Sh. Dhillon while praising Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that despite two years of COVID-crisis, India and Haryana have made a steady progress.

The Principal Secretary, Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Yogendra Choudhary informed that the Foreign Cooperation Department has been constituted to provide investment facility to the NRIs, especially the NRIs belonging to Haryana in the state.

On this occasion, the delegation was also honoured with a memento to the Chief Minister. On this occasion the Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary, Department of Foreign Cooperation, Sh. Yogendra Choudhary, ICCC President, Sh. Ripudaman Singh Dhillon and many other senior officers were present.
