In the Haryana-LAC conference, representatives from abroad said that Haryana is a leading state of the country
Chandigarh, March 27 :- In the presence of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal and Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, representatives of more than a dozen countries from Latin American and Caribbean region, present in India, fervently praised the state of Haryana on Sunday. In the round table discussions during the Haryana-LAC conference held at Surajkund, many delegates spoke openly about various aspects of the State, including art-culture, agriculture, sports, IT sector and industries. The Chief Minister also carefully heard the representatives and also answered important questions related to different countries.
Haryana’s unique identity among the important states of the country
David E. Pegg Bushel of the Dominican Republic, starting his address in Hindi, said that I am very happy that today I got the opportunity to see the Surajkund Mela for the first time. This conference is important for all of us because Haryana is one of the important states of the country. While expressing interest in the field of education, he said that following the ‘Look Beyond Europe’ approach he will inspire the youth of his country to pursue education at institutions in India. Welcoming this fact, the Chief Minister said that many higher educational institutions in Haryana have A+ rankings.
Got familiar with Haryana during stay in Gurugram
Yasil Elins Burillo Rivera of Panama told during the round table discussion that when she got the opportunity to come to India her first stay was in Gurugram. He came to know Haryana as he was staying in Gurugram. He told that Panama is called the connecting point of the American island. The Chief Minister then asked the representative of Panama to become the connecting point between America and Haryana.
Welcomed to the event with an open heart
Carlos Rafael Polo Castaneda from Peru welcomed the idea of the Haryana-LAC conference. This event has been organized with the belief that Haryana and Peru should work together in different fields. He said that Peru is ready to move ahead by joining Haryana with an open heart.
Keen interest in Basmati Rice
Basmati rice of Haryana also seemed to be popular among different countries. This came to light during the conference. Juan Angulo Monsalve from Chile and Alejandro Simancas Marin of Cuba expressed their incline towards Basmati Rice and also shared with the Chief Minister that it is popular in their countries as well. The Chief Minister said that the export of Basmati would be taken forward through HAFED very soon.
