33 gold have fallen in the state’s kitty so far, girls have bagged 15 gold
Haryana occupies the first place on the medal tally with 96 medals
Chandigarh, June 9 :– During the Khelo India Youth Games held in Panchkula, Haryana, the dashing girls of Haryana are winning gold medals. So far, out of the total 33 gold in the state’s kitty, boys have won 18 gold, out of which 16 gold have been won by the state in individual sports and 2 gold in team events. Similarly, girls have won 15 gold out of which 14 were won in individual events and one gold was won in a team event. Both boys and girls have bagged the most gold medals in Haryana’s favourite sport, wrestling.
Boys are ahead of the girls in the silver medal tally. Out of a total of 27 silver medals, boys have won 16. In which 13 medal were won by individuals and 3 medals were won in team events. At the same time, the girls have so far won 11 Silver medals out of these, 8 medals were won by individuals and two medals were won in team events.
Even though the boys are ahead in the bronze medal table, there is a difference of only two medals between the boys and girls of Haryana. So far, Haryana has bagged 36 bronze medals, out of which boys have won 19 and girls have won 17. In singles event both boys and girls have won 16 medals each, while in team event boys have won 3 medals and girls have won 1 medal.
With 96 medals, Haryana remains at the top position in the medal tally. In the total medals won by the state till now, Wrestling continues to dominate because of which, most medals have been added to the tally. A total of 38 medals have been won by the state in wrestling, out of which 16 are gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze medals. Haryana comes in at 2nd place in Athletics, with a total of 14 medals. This includes 3 Gold, 6 Silver and 5 Bronze medals.
