In view of World TB Day on 24th March, Health Department, Chandigarh administration takes a step towards a TB Mukt Bharat

Chandigarh 20 March 2022 , Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health and Family Welfare, U.T., Chandigarh flagged off the teams for Active Case Finding (ACF). These teams will find all presumptive TB cases among the general population. They will visit both urban and rural areas and conduct a house to house survey to identify symptomatic persons for TB testing. Those that get diagnosed as positive cases will be initiated on treatment at the earliest after all other necessary tests.

This will help in early diagnosis of cases and break the chain of infection.  The ACF survey started from 20th March 2023 and will go on till 21st April 2023. This survey will cover Bapudham colony, Sector -26, sector-30, Sector-24, Burail, sector -49, kajheri, Maulijagran, Maulijagran complex, Vikas Nagar, Ramdarbar, Rehab colony Dhanas, Maloya, sector-25.

32 teams have been made in Chandigarh that will visit these areas and they will target to cover almost 1/4th of the entire population of Chandigarh.

Dr Rajesh Kumar Rana, State TB Officer informed that Central TB Division, New Delhi has started this activity all over India.
